3 TV SHOW RECOMMENDATIONS #2

Tuesday, 22 November 2016

Lately, I've been so full of uni work and exams (not even done yet) but I've also managed to start watching some new tv shows and catch up with old ones. How? Procrastination. I'm very good at that. As a student, I think allowing yourself to have a few breaks between study sessions/work sessions is important. Or that's what I tell myself to not feel bad when I'm procrastinating.

Anyway, here are a few recommendations in case you want to get into a new tv show, binge watch it and forget about your life responsibilities (for a while).

Eyewitness. It’s a mystery-crime-thriller-drama tv show about two teenage boys, Philip and Lukas, that witness a murder. They are torn between protecting their own secrets or doing what's right. The main characters also struggle with their sexuality, especially Lukas. The plot is actually very interesting and different from other tv shows and the sub-plots are also really good. It features strong female and men characters and well-developed characters. Sadly, it's close to being cancelled and their ratings need to go up. I mean they've increased a lot but it’s not enough. Also being an international viewer doesn’t help with ratings so if you are from the USA please watch this tv show on Sundays 10/9c on USA Network!

Skam. This is a Norwegian show about the lives of a few teenagers. It’s SO realistic and the characters are amazing, and actually portrayed by real teenagers/young adults. Also, it deals with a lot of important issues in such a good way which is refreshing to see. Every season focuses on a different character and the episodes are only 15-20 minutes long!!! It's nice if you want something light to watch. Though it can actually be intense at times.
I’ve been binge watching it this weekend and I’m on s3 already... If you want to watch this show tweet me or send me an email and I’ll send you a link, since it isn't on any of the usual platforms. It’s quite hard to find links and I think the episodes are only on google drive thanks to someone that uploaded them all. They all have English subtitles so language isn’t an issue!! If anything it will make you want to study Norwegian.

How to get away with murder. You probably have heard about this one, I'm sure I've talked about it before. It isn't a new tv show but IT’S SO GOOD. If you like law-crime-drama tv shows you'll probably like this one, a lot. It also deals with real life issues just like the other shows I've mentioned so that's a plus. And the characters are amazing and complex. I don’t know how to explain what it is about properly without giving away too much but trust me, it’s great and really worth watching. You can watch the season 1 trailer here
(If you're up to date with this one, can we please take a moment to cry, I'm still not over what happened in the mid-season finale, you know what I mean, I don't think I'll ever be over it. HELP.)

Do you watch any of these shows? What are you currently watching?

  1. Glad to finally be able to leave you a comment! :)

I love tv shows so I instantly loved this entry, who isn't up for some recommendations? I actually have been thinking about writing an entry similar to this one and I was ready to talk about 'Skam' too.

Found out about it like two weeks ago and it's so good! Kind of reminds me of Skins, but also pretty different. I love all the storylines and also the amount of representation on it. Kudos for that!

I'm watching Eyewitness too but I'm not that fond of it. I'm a sucker for crime shows and stuff like that but there's something off about it (for me). I'm glad that you're enjoying it!!

Don't get me started on HTGAWM, I'm still hurt because of the finale hahah

    Anyway, great entry!

    Love, Carmen x
