3 FEEL GOOD TV SHOWS YOU NEED TO WATCH

Monday, 7 August 2017

You know those days when all you need is a tv show to lift up your mood? Or those shows you can have in the background whilst doing simple tasks? Well, I got you covered. Here are three shows I’ve been watching lately that are perfect for that. I love having them in the background or watching an episode or two when I’m not feeling good or need a break from real life. They help me disconnect.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Only started watching this recently and it’s already one of my favourite shows ever. The episodes are 20min long and they follow the everyday life of a group of detectives in New York. I binge watched it in a few days and I loved every single episode. It just made me so happy. It’s a comedy show but it also deals with real-life problems and there’s also a lot of representation in the show which is really good. The cast is fantastic and I love them all.  Currently, there are only 4 seasons and the fifth one will start at the end of next month!! It’s on Netflix (minus season 4, at least in Spain) so you can binge watch it right now!
WARNING: watching this comes with an inexplicable and inevitable crush on Andy Samberg.

Younger: I discovered it two months ago and again, I was hooked since episode one. It’s about a 40-year-old woman that pretends to be 26 because nobody in the publishing world would hire her for being ‘old’. It’s a light-hearted show to watch, you can have it in the background if you like. The episodes are also 20 minutes long which is great for binge-watching. Again, it’s a comedy-drama show. What I love the most about it is the fact that you get to see and learn a little bit about the publishing world which is something I particularly like a lot and I am very interested in; although I bet they glamourised it a bit (or a lot) for the show, idk though. Right now they’re on season 4, well, there are only a few episodes left. It’s not on Netflix (at least not in Spain) so I’m not too sure where you can watch it, I watched it on normal tv.

Gilmore Girls: a "classic" and yes, I’m late to the party. I started watching this last year and for some reason, I stopped in season 4. I’m sure you all know what this one is about, it just follows the lives of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and everyone else in their little town, Stars Hollow. I love having it in the background whilst I do other things or just watching it in bed before I go to sleep. I got so involved with the show, I love it so much. This one is all on Netflix so you don't have to worry about anything!

I could’ve included more like Friends, How I Met Your Mother, etc… but right now these are my ‘go-to feel good shows’. I watch many other shows that I love more than these ones but they do require more attention if you know what I mean? If you’d like more tv show recommendations please tell me, I’d be more than happy to write about the shows I watch.

Which are your 'feel good' shows?

  1. I really wish the Simpsons and Harry Potter (not a TV show, but oh well) were on Netflix, because when I need a mood booster, they're my two picks. It doesn't matter how many times I've watched the episodes and films, they're always as good!

  3. I was late to the party as well with Gilmore Girls. My flatmate introduced me and I was hooked immediately. Still feel slightly lost now I've finished it, will probably end up rewatching!
